Citizens Bank and Trust to Open Branch in Richmond Hill

Eastman, Georgia, Citizens Bank and Trust announced today that the bank has filed an application for regulatory approval to open a banking office in Richmond Hill, Georgia. The bank is raising additional capital from local investors in central and coastal Georgia to support anticipated growth.

“Richmond Hill is centrally located in the rapidly expanding coastal Georgia market and we have partnered with an experienced banking team to expand our business there,” said G. Mike Odom, Chief Executive of Citizens Bank. “This strategy will result in a stronger, more diverse bank to serve our central Georgia communities and this new, dynamic coastal area.”

Richmond Hill banking executives Jon Seagraves and Brad Brookshire, along with a group of local investors, have teamed with Citizens Bank and Trust to open the full-service banking office. Both Seagraves and Brookshire have lived in Richmond Hill for many years, and are eager to revitalize the face of local, community-oriented banking to better serve the rapidly expanding market. Well-versed in both banking and our local economy, Seagraves and Brookshire intend to cater to the community in a way often forgotten in the industry.

“We are very excited to partner with Citizens Bank and local investors in central and coastal Georgia to bring the level of service and community commitment back to Richmond Hill that we previously enjoyed,” Brookshire said. “We can deliver quality service to our customers and more effectively meet the financing needs of our growing community by having the true, local bank culture that Citizens offers.”

“Experienced bankers supported by innovative technology, state-of-the-art online banking capabilities, and capital strength combine to provide the personal service that has made Citizens the ‘Bank of Choice’ in Eastman,” Seagraves added. “We expect to achieve that goal in Richmond Hill and along the coast within a short time.”

Upon regulatory approval, the new banking office, which is expected to open in early December, will be temporarily located in Ford Plaza while a new facility is constructed at the corner of Highway 144 and Towne Centre in Richmond Hill.
