Position Summary: Operates a teller’s window by providing prompt, efficient and accurate customer service, representing the Bank in a courteous, professional manner, alert to customer needs and willing to cross-sell or refer the customer to the appropriate staff.
Reports To: Head Teller/Office Manager
Responsibilities:
- Accepts deposits, verifying cash and endorsements, issues receipts and completes any other documentation necessary.
- Operates teller system.
- Cash checks.
- Processes coins brought in by customers.
- Cross-sells the Bank’s services and products.
- Processes credit card deposits and credit card advances.
- Processes night deposit bags.
- Redeems U.S. Savings Bonds.
- Issues cashier checks.
- Accepts loan payments and safe deposit box rental payments.
- Answers customer inquiries and gives balances.
- Balances transactions at end of day and verifies cash totals.
- Takes night deposits.
- May be responsible for closing and securing vault and doors.
- Follow BSA, CIP and OFAC procedures as outlined in the BSA policy.
- May assist with training, vault maintenance, scheduling, opening and closing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Education, Experience, and Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of banking experience as teller or related business experience
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and follow procedures and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers,
- and the general public.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Good interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and fellow employees.
- General knowledge of laws and regulations related to banking.
- Self-starter with good organizational skills, detail oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products and financial programs.
