Position Summary: Great Oaks Bank is seeking to fill an entry level Portfolio Manager position. The Portfolio Manager position works closely with the Relationship Manager, customers, and other team members to effectively manage an existing loan portfolio and originate new loan requests. We are looking for a candidate with a long-term goal of advancing into a Relationship Manager role.
Reports To: Relationship Manager and/or Market Executive
Responsibilities:
- Assist Relationship Manager with the collection of financial information and other related data to determine credit worthiness of loan applicants
- Prepare loan packages for both new requests and renewals, in their entirety, for review and approval of the Relationship Manager and others in the approval process
- Assume ownership of assigned loans with little or no direct supervision
- Coordinate with credit department for analysis of loan requests
- Support the collection of past due loans
- Support the clearing of credit & collateral exceptions
- Maintain a working knowledge of loan documentation and bank terminology
- Obtain and retain product knowledge
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and regulations
- Participate with Relationship Manager in business development activities
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Finance and/or Accounting or a related field is preferred but not required
- 1 year of experience in credit analysis, credit administration, or lending is preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively through both written and oral communications
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and follow procedures
- Must be a self-starter who is goal focused with good organizations skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
