Position Summary: The Cultural Development, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at Great Oaks Bank supports the development and execution of marketing, communication, client engagement and community engagement initiatives that strengthen the bank’s brand and customer experience. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented professional with 1–2 years of marketing experience and a passion for community-focused work. Banking experience is a plus but not required.

The Cultural Development, Marketing and Communications Coordinator plays a hands-on role in content creation, digital marketing, event coordination, and internal communication helping ensure the Great Oaks Bank brand is consistently represented across all channels and locations.


Reports To: Cultural Development, Marketing and Communications Director


Key Responsibilities:

Marketing & Branding

  • Assist in executing marketing campaigns and initiatives that support bank goals.
  • Create and update content for the website, social media, blog posts, and digital/print advertising.
  • Coordinates the production of the quarterly Growing Our Legacy newsletter, including gathering content, drafting copy, and coordinating layout.
  • Help maintain brand consistency across all customer touchpoints and internal materials.
  • Assist with the GOB company store, including product updates and brand alignment.

Digital Marketing & Advertising

  • Coordinate with the bank’s digital marketing vendor to support campaign execution.
  • Manages digital advertising efforts, including scheduling, content updates, and performance tracking.
  • Monitor marketing trends, especially in banking and digital media, to support continuous improvement.

Events & Community Engagement

  • Assist in planning and coordinating bank events, customer appreciation activities, and community initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating business development events for existing and prospective clients.
  • Support relationships with local Chambers of Commerce, vendors, and community partners.
  • Participate in community events as a representative of Great Oaks Bank.

Internal Communication & Culture Support

  • Assist with internal communication efforts, including employee announcements, engagement activities, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Help coordinate employee outings and team-building events.

External Communication

  • Assist with customer communications, press releases, marketing materials to deliver effective messaging to customers, prospects and the communities we serve.

Sales & Customer Experience Support

  • Support marketing materials and content for business development efforts.
  • Assist in evaluating customer experience touchpoints and gathering feedback to support improvements.
  • Coordinates resources and efforts to ensure that bank personnel who are engaged with customers fully understand all of the marketing materials and how to most effectively sell the bank’s products and services.

Operational Support

  • Help track marketing expenses and process invoices.
  • Maintain organized files, project calendars, and marketing assets.
  • Participates in monthly marketing meetings, engaging office managers, and team members across departments to determine any additional marketing needs in the communities we serve and identify upcoming events or opportunities to engage our team and broaden brand awareness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field—or equivalent experience.
  • 1–2 years of marketing experience (internships included).
  • Banking or financial services experience is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and basic design principles.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
  • Creative thinker with strong attention to detail and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Outgoing, engaging personality with highly developed social skills.
